Welcome Caregivers!

If you have a child who is a student at PS 17Q, you are automatically part of the PTA. Feel free to browse and hopefully you find useful information. And if you don't, please send us an email at ps17qpta@gmail.com. Or just send us a hello - we'd love to meet you :)

Please check out our Wellness Council, whose leaders and volunteers have spearheaded so many initiatives for our school community - they are a force of nature! You can reach them at ps17wellness@gmail.com.

March 2024 - News and Events

Class PArents

The PTA is recruiting caregivers who would like to serve as Class Parents for the remainder of this school year.

A class parent facilitates communication between caregivers and the teacher, the school administration, and the PTA.

Serving as a class parent is an excellent opportunity to connect to your child’s class and to be involved in both the classroom and student/family community.

We are still looking for volunteers to support classes: PK109, K132, K134, 1-223, 2-235, 3-324, 4-207, 4-311, 4-322, 5-308, 5-310

REad-A-Thon

Our spring Read-A-Thon has been extended until April 12!

Students should have received a flyer with their classroom code to activate their Read-A-Thon account.

Be sure to log on to Read-A-Thon.com and activate their account so your child can log his/her reading at home and with their class (donation is not required to activate the account). Students and classes can win a lot of fun prizes.

Share your child’s page with family and friends to encourage our students to keep reading -- all funds raised though Read-a-Thon donations will support our school's enrichment programs.

Calling all Volunteers!

The PTA and Wellness Council are seeking volunteers to help with several events in March and April. We need extra hands for the book fair, craft sale, and Earth Day.

The link below will take you to a page where you can sign up for any and all of our upcoming volunteer opportunities!

Ways to Give

1

Direct Contributions

Making a direct financial contribution to the fund is the fastest way to make an impact.

To donate to the general fund (enrichment), please click  here.

Check out  other initiatives throughout the year here

2

Fundraiser Participation

The PTA hosts many fundraisers and events throughout the year.

This is a catch two birds with one stone where we get to contribute to the general fund and just have fun (or eat donuts, or get rid of gently used clothes or... we'll think of something else)!

3

Participate and Volunteer!

If you can spare time and energy, please join us to help at several events! And our Wellness Council can always use extra hands for composting and gardening!
